Jeff James just completed work assisting with revising the Washington Pattern Jury Instructions. Jeff was invited to join a “blue ribbon” subcommittee in 2015 that was tasked with reviewing the employment law pattern jury instructions used by Superior Court Judges and attorneys in employment jury trials. In addition to helping to clarify and improve existing pattern instructions, Jeff helped create a new pattern instruction in cases involving “after acquired evidence,” based on SBJ’s successful outcome in Lodis v. Corbis Holdings, Inc. The “new and improved WPI’s” must now be approved by the Washington State Supreme Court and should be published for use in 2018.
