Julian Cano is an associate with SEBRIS BUSTO JAMES. His practice includes employment litigation, wage and hour claims, noncompetition and non-solicitation covenants, discrimination and harassment claims, retaliation claims, and worker classification issues.
Julian received his undergraduate degree in Creative Writing from Florida State University in 2014. He graduated from Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey, with a specialization in Corporate and Business Law in 2019. During law school, Julian was an Executive Editor of the Rutgers University Law Review and a member of the Rutgers Moot Court Board National Appellate Advocacy Team. He also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Michael Shipp of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and as a legal intern with the Student Honors Legal Program at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Division of Enforcement.
Julian began his legal career as a law clerk for the Eighteenth Judicial District Court. He later served as a Deputy District Attorney with the Denver District Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted criminal cases. After moving to Seattle, he worked at a civil litigation law firm and a maritime commercial litigation firm representing businesses and employers in practice areas including employment law, insurance defense, and business and corporate law. Julian has also successfully represented clients at mediation, arbitration, and through trial.
Julian’s hobbies include snowboarding, hiking, and hot yoga.
