Monica received her undergraduate degree in English and Plan II Honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012. Monica then received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 2015. While there, Monica was awarded a post-graduate litigation fellowship, where she established legal aid clinics and litigated wage and hour claims throughout the Greater Chicago area. Prior to joining Sebris Busto James, Monica started her legal career at a boutique civil rights firm in Chicago. After moving to Seattle, she worked at commercial litigation and insurance coverage firms handling a variety of cases, including complex litigation, retaliation and discrimination claims, business disputes, and intellectual property matters. Outside the office, Monica’s hobbies include weightlifting, running, and playing her violin.
