Tina Aiken is a Shareholder with SEBRIS BUSTO JAMES. Her practice includes all aspects of employment litigation, including defending discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims. Tina also conducts workplace investigations for public and private employers and advises employers regarding compliance with labor and employment laws, employee relations, performance management, and policy and handbook drafting.
Tina has served as Chair of the Washington State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section. She has served on the Executive Committee for the WSBA Labor and Employment Law Section and on the Pacific Coast Labor & Employment Law Conference Planning Committee. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the King County Bar Association, Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, and the Society for Human Resource Management.
Tina is on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Washington and provides pro bono legal advice on employment matters and issues involving athletes and volunteers. She has served as a volunteer for the University of Washington Experimental Education Unit.
Tina received her undergraduate degree in psychology in 1991 from Washington State University. In 1993, she received a master’s degree in Organizational Psychology with an emphasis in Human Resource Management from Columbia University. She received her J.D. in 1997 from Seattle University School of Law.
Prior to joining Sebris Busto James, Tina worked at a management-side labor and employment law firm in Seattle, and she interned with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Washington State Attorney General’s office. Before attending law school, Tina worked as a professional in human resource management. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society for Human Resource Management.
