SBJ Helps Senate Settle $1.75M Claim

When a staff attorney filed a $1.75 million hostile work environment claim against the Washington State Senate in April, the Senate turned to Sebris Busto James for help. Today, the parties announced a settlement whereby the staff attorney agreed to drop his claims in exchange for $0 and a $15,000 maximum payment toward his actual attorney fees. The Senate also reaffirmed its commitment to uphold and seek to improve its Respectful Workplace policy. Jeff James served as lead trial counsel for the Washington State Senate.
