Case Dismissed

Jeff James and Jennifer Parda-Aldrich succeeded in getting a case dismissed before it even got off the ground. The case was filed by a pro se plaintiff (meaning he represented himself without an attorney) against his former employer, its successor, and seven of its employees. The plaintiff’s complaint spanned 20 pages and included nearly a dozen claims. In the end, however, the court concluded that the action was time-barred and was also barred because the claims arose during a previous lawsuit against the same employer and thus were barred by the doctrine of “litigation privilege.”
